Preperish is about preparing your death, but it is also about living you life better in the meantime. Great philosophers and mystics have all agreed that living with your death by your side helps you gain a new perspective on it, one that keeps reminding you of what is really important. Plus it ends up diminishing the anxiety created by trying to avoid thinking about death.
Preperish is an app that helps you prepare your death in three ways:
1. Your Last Will and Testament
The fact is, few of us take the trouble to prepare a legal last will unless we are already dying or very old. Hopefully we will live until 120 but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be prepared for anything. With Preperish you are just a button away from updating your last will at any time. That allows you to be specific “I want that clock delivered to X” and to change it as your relationships and properties evolve.
If necessary in your country, you could make a notarized will stating that your last will is whatever is written on your Preperish account number when unlocked after you die.
2. Your burial place, style, tombstone design, and ceremony
Have you noticed how bland and impersonal traditional tombstones are? Wouldn’t it be nice for your relatives to visit you in one designed and chosen by you?
Wouldn’t it be nice to choose the place they will visit you?Maybe you want a particular tree to grow on from you.
Maybe you don’t want people who didn’t know you, to be the ones talking about you, describing you. If you don’t like default, impersonal ceremonies, with Preperish you can tell your relatives what you don’t want and what you do want to happen on it. You could even write your own euology or last message to the world, your last words, to be read at it.
3. Your memory
Wouldn’t it be nice to know more about your ancestors than the few anecdotes, often inaccurate, you usually get to hear? Give that gift to your descendants.
In Preperish you control how you are remembered, and leave a priceless gift of photos, writings, videos, audio, posthumous letters, things I always used to say, existential interview, and many other interesting fields, to the future.
Your Preperish account will remain private until sufficient agreement (as defined by you) about your dead is received from your ‘trusted witnesses'.
Once Preperished, chances are next time you think about your death, instead of panicking, you will actually smile, remembering something in your account.
